"What is this am I wrong? Wait a minute, I found it I know what I need"
—Percy (Undead Backstory Trailer)
Appearance
Percy is a tall, broad-shouldered man with short hair and a beard that has turned pure white. His skin is dull grey-blue, and is covered in jagged red scars, most notably across his forehead and down his neck. He has his right eye which is glowing and his left eye which is missing. Embedded in his chest is a circular device, with dark purple tubing coming out of it, then coiling around his body and connecting to a large green tank on his back. Blue electrical bolts can be seen slowly moving from the tank into his body.
He wears dark denim pants and brown dress shoes underneath a dirty and torn white vest. Covering most of his body is a ripped dark blue trench coat that reaches his thighs, and is mostly stitched up except for at the arms that are almost completely torn open.
Gameplay
Percy is a hunter who specializes in chasing and downing survivors, and completely relies on keeping Survivors on the ground (also called "slugging") as he cannot interact with Rocket Chairs and cannot pick up downed survivors. Fortunately, this makes survivors who are capable of rescuing survivors who are carried by the hunter useless due to the reasons above as Percy cannot carry survivors to the Rocket Chair. However, his Surrogate takes too long to eliminate a survivor and his camping is horrible, forcing Percy to pursue other survivors who are decoding once he downed a survivor otherwise he will get cipher rushed.
He has a dash ability that allows him to charge a short distance straight in front of him, and which will damage any character he hits. In addition, he has an energy meter, which upon reaching a certain point will put him into an "overcharged" state where it will enhanced his abilities such as his basic attack can break dropped pallets, able to perform a jump chop at the end of each dash to bypass short obstacles and attack survivors who have have dodged his dash attack, can perform Charged Strike twice and he cannot be stunned during his attacking animations. However, overcharging Percy too much will cause his movement speed to slow down by 8% (4.73m/s > 4.3516m/s) and prevents him from using his abilities for 15 seconds hence the player much keep an eye on his Energy frequently.
External Traits
Percy will start every match with these passive traits.
Energy Charge
Surrogate
Frequency Conversion
Press "Expand" to see the description of each trait.
- Energy Charge: Percy can use this ability to increase his energy load. When the energy reaches 50, Percy will enter an Energy Surge state during which his regular attacks and ability actions won't be interrupted by Survivors and he can shatter pallets which have been pulled down with either of his normal attacks, his ability will also be enhanced. When the energy reaches 100, Percy will go inter overload during which his movement speed is decreased by 8% and he can't use any abilities for 14 seconds.
- Surrogate: Percy is unable to place Survivors on Rocket Chairs. However, the elimination progress of Survivors knocked down by Percy is increased by 25%, their self-heal limit is raised to 95%, their crawling speed is increased by 200%, and their location is revealed to Percy for 6 seconds when they get back on their feet.
- Special: When all of the Survivors are knocked down, the elimination speed is increased by 300%. After the gate's electrical switch is activated, the elimination speed against knocked down Survivors is increased by 300%.
- Frequency Conversion: Once a dungeon is refreshed and opened, Percy can change its location or refresh the opened dungeon at a random location. Once Frequency Conversion has been activated, Percy is unable to halt the process, and his location is exposed to Survivors. When Frequency Conversion is completed, Survivors can see the location of the new dungeon for a short period. Frequency Conversion can only be activated once per match.
Abilities
These abilities are obtained by increasing the yellow Presence bar for the hunter.
Kinetic Dash Hit
Charged Strike
Energy Conversion
Press "Expand" to see the description of each ability.
- Kinetic Dash Hit Dashes forward for a short distance and deals damage by launching up a Survivor. The ability ends when he hits an obstacle or reaches the maximum distance. Using this skill increases Energy Load by 10.
- Energy Surge: This ability won't be interrupted by Survivors. Tapping the ability button again during the brief launch up period will trigger another jumping hit to deal damage upon hitting a Survivor.
- Charged Strike: A charged strike on the ground sending all Survivors within range flying. The range expands as the charge duration increases. When the charge duration exceeds a certain threshold, the hit comes with the effect of a regular attack. Using this skill increases the Energy load by 20.
- Energy Surge: This ability won't be interrupted by Survivors. Before the Charged Strike ability ends, holding the ability button again will trigger another Charged Strike.
- Energy Conversion: When the ability is used while Percy's energy load is below 50, his energy load will increase by 50 and he'll experience an Energy Surge. When this ability is used when Percy is experiencing an Energy Surge, his energy load will decrease by 50 and his Energy Surge will end.
Tips
Press "Expand" to see tips about playing as and against this Hunter.
As "Undead"
- "Undead" struggles the most in late game where every cipher is already decoded and exit gates can be opened. Avoid processing the game to this part of the game at all cost.
- In case if failed to avoid, bringing Detention and Claustrophobia can remedy this.
- You can use the Abnormal trait to drain the decoding progress, however this is not recommended in claustrophobic maps like White Sand Street Asylum as Blink would perform better at preventing this.
- "Undead" also struggles to hunt survivors when they're tightly kite-looping. However unlike the previous tips, this cannot be avoided.
- Use either Blink, Peeper or the Charged Strike ability to partly counter this. They are not definite counters but surely helps.
- "Undead" counters survivors with the ability to stun hunters like Enchantress, Prospector, Forward etc. as his Energy Surge state allows him to be immune to stuns.
- There's also the fact that "Undead" doesn't use rocket chairs to eliminate survivors, meaning that the time given for supports are much lower than normal.
- "Undead" in the other hand is countered by fast healing/self healing survivors, survivors with damage prevention abilities and cipher rushing survivors like Doctor, Seer and Mechanic. This is because they either negate the "Undead"'s strength or criticize his weakness.
- In case for fast healing, this makes knocked down survivors being able to get up faster and eventually/or healed to full health before the "Undead" can get back to them.
- Bring the Impact persona to remedy this.
- In case for damage prevention, every "Undead"'s damaging abilities still trigger the attack recovery, this buys survivors a lot more time to move to other kiting routes.
- The case for cipher rushing, as mentioned before, "Undead" is weak in late game where every cipher is decoded and exit gates can be opened. Cipher rushers can quickly finish every cipher machines and put the game into late game.
- In Rank Matches, you can ban powerful decoder type survivors to avoid this or if not, follow the smaller tips of the 1st tips.
- In case for fast healing, this makes knocked down survivors being able to get up faster and eventually/or healed to full health before the "Undead" can get back to them.
- Street Sweeper persona allows Percy is track down survivors who are healing easily before the survivor could recover their health.
- While in Energy Surge state, if you're near to hitting a survivor with the ability to stun hunters, use the Charge Attack allows you to get a guarentee hit on them as the "Undead"'s Charge Attack duration is long, ensuring that the survivor cannot stun you.
- However in the case if the survivor is near a pallet or window, you have to switch to normal attack or the Kinetic Dash Hit ability, otherwise you may lose a hit freely.
- The Frequency Conversion ability should only be used when the last survivor is quite close to the opened dungeon.
- If used too late, survivor can escape through the dungeon while you're using this ability.
- If used anywhere outside this time, it'll reveal the position for other survivors, revealing the dungeon location for every survivors. There's also the fact that you can only use this ability once.
- Despite carrying a large and long sword, his attack range is short and not wide even with the Charge Attack. Take note of this while using this hunter in the game.
- The Energy Conversion ability is recommended to use only to drain energy unless if you run out of dashes of the Kinetic Dash Hit ability.
- If used to increase the energy, it may restrict you to not use the ability a lot, limiting your hunting capability.
- The "Undead" at the start of the game has full charge of Kinetic Dash Hit. Use those dashes to quickly find survivors.
- This is especially important if there is at least 1 decoder in the match.
- The "Undead" excels at catching up survivors with the ability to quickly evade away from hunters, such as Mercenary, Wildling, Toy Merchant, Patient etc.
- Because of this, "Undead" is capable to hunt most of survivors with massive advantage in kiting.
- The only survivor with massive kiting advantage "Undead" is not capable to hunt is First Officer.
- Despite of this, you may still want to switch targets as some survivors like Wildling have a critical weakness being having slow decoding speed.
- Because of this, "Undead" is capable to hunt most of survivors with massive advantage in kiting.
Against "Undead"
- This hunter may seem threatening but if you learn to kite-loop properly, this hunter is not as a major threat as you think.
- Survivors like Seer, Perfumer can counter the "Undead"'s Kinetic Dash Hit ability.
- Decoders can be powerful against "Undead" as the biggest weakness of this hunter is late game.
- This is quite situational as sometimes, the hunter may hunt the decoder first, rendering this strategy ineffective.
- Healing is key to counter this hunter as one of the weakness of this hunter is healing.
- Doctor and Barmaid can further criticize this weakness.
- You can bring the Doctor persona to assist in this or nullify the Impact persona from the hunter.
- Acrobat is another counter to "Undead" as his fire balls hinder the ability usage capability of the hunter.
- You are less likely to face with "Undead" in Claustrophobic maps as it is one of his weaknesses.

Trivia
- His profile from the Anniversary Tales Collection Booklet, obtained from the Second Anniversary Event:
- Percy spent his life obsessed with the possibilities of resurrecting the dead and creating the perfect being. How was he to know that a creature resurrected from the dead would in fact make him the perfect being? [The "Undead" entered the Manor on November 26, 2020.]
- Percy was designed by Ashley Wood, as part of the Underverse crossover.
- He was released on Thanksgiving of 2020 during Season 13, and similar to Photographer and Geisha, he was immediately available for purchase at the Illusion Hall
- Percy was not very well received due to the controversy surrounding his creator, Ashley Wood. His overall "surrogate" mechanic was also viewed negatively by most people due to the overall nature over the concept of "slugging" that are considered to be a concept of toxicity over the general community of Identity V.
- Percy is based upon Victor Frankenstein from the famous horror novel Frankenstein, written by Mary Shelley.
- Percy is also the first name of Mary Shelly's spouse.
- Percy is the only Hunter to not be able to put Survivors on Rocket Chairs.
- If Percy finds a Survivor in a locker, he will tie balloons onto them first, then immediately drop them.
- He is the third character to have quotation marks in his title, the others being "Prisoner", "Disciple", "Psychologist", "Nightmare" and "Little Girl".
- Percy is by far, one of the tallest male hunters, if not, characters currently available in the game. Ann is a bit taller than Percy, however her craned neck makes her shorter.
- Save for his current fate as a reanimated corpse, Percy is one of the most human looking and proportionately-built hunters in the game. Judging from his white hair and beard, he might possibly be one of the older aged hunters along with Burke.
- To date, he is the only Hunter that is able to interact with the Dungeon.
